It’s time once again to recap the Dot Com Mogul Checklist made famous by fellow blogger / review site owner John Chow. So, let’s see how I did for the month of April…
- Your income is make from the Internet. Yep, that’s me!
- The minimum Internet income level is $10,000 per month (you can not add income from other sources to hit this $10K level). I know this one will be holding me back for a while to come. Hopefully this time next year I might be able to surpass this requirement!
- You have no jobs outside of the Internet. True statement.
- You have a personal blog with your name as the domain name. Another check!
- Your blog must be updated at least once per week. Easy enough. I try to update multiple times per day ![]()
- A Google search of your name must be the #1 spot. I hold the second spot… wow the first spot site sure is hard to beat! Maybe next month?!
- You must be willing to help dot com mogul wannabes. Yep, I am always here if you all have any questions… just shoot me an email or hit me up on AIM.
- Give time, money or anything of value to a charitable cause each month. Ding Ding Ding, we have a winner! I donated $50.00 to World Vision as part of a charity event with Stephen Fung.
- Personally help at least one person establish their online presence via a blog or website or help them enhance one they already have every month. Yeah, to some extent. My friend Ashley wanted a place to post some of her favorite quotes online. I suggested a blog, but I don’t think she is ready for that just yet… so we agreed that she could post her quotes here!
I am still two requirements short of being considered an official Dot Com Mogul. Hopefully next month I will tackle the Google requirement, which just leaves the 10k per month to aim for.
