Car Lot Keith Strikes Again

Those of you that follow this blog on a regular basis should already be familiar with my friend Keith. Keith goes through cars about as fast as a family of four goes through a roll of toilet paper. Don’t believe me?

1995 Pontiac Firebird (V6)
1995 Pontiac Firebird Formula (V8)
1994 Mitsubishi 3000GT
1972 Dodge Charger
1989 Toyota Camary
1993 Ford Mustang LX
1991 Nissan Pickup
2004 Ford Mustang GT
1999 Chevrolet Camaro SS

Nine cars in eight years… keep in mind, he is only 24! His last car was a NICE 99 Camaro SS but, not wanting a car note, he decided to sell it and get something cheaper.

Enter the latest victim on his list: 1992 Ford Mustang GT. Keith picked this car up today, which sports the following mods: LX Tail Lights, H&R Springs, Short Throw Shifter, Sub Frame Connectors, H-Pipe with 2 Chamber Flowmasters and Smoked Headlights.

Keith is coming down Wednesday to show me the new ride and I am heading back to his place that night. On Thursday, he plans to run the car at the track to get some baseline 1/4 mile numbers before he starts adding some mods. We expect the car to run pretty darn slow, since it’s pretty much stock besides the exhaust.

17″ Chrome Cobra R Rims are high on his list, as well as a new set of gears in the rear. I’m trying to persuade him to drop in twin turbos, but he seems more into the idea of supercharging it…

What can I say? I love cars. I’m hoping to keep this one for longer than 6 months hehe.

you dumb ass dont know shit about cars and 1992 mustang gt will do a quarter mile in 14.8 and 0-60 in 6.8 and thats pretty fuckin quick for a stock car

  4. Keith Said,

LOLOL. 14.8 is fast? Sure for a honda. Hell it might have even been fast in 1992. In the year 2009 14.8 is sloooowww.

the old 5.0 engine in the mustang produced a whopping 225 hp to the flywheel. They dynoed around 200 in a 5 speed. You just about can’t buy a car today that has less horsepower than that.

Oh, and that car ran a 14.4 peg legging the whole way with a crappy 2.4 60′ time. It also had 170k miles on it. Guess what? That’s slow. 13’s are average for a sports car today. 12s are getting fast. 11s are fast.
