Nickelback, along with Chris Daughtry and Puddle of Mudd, will be performing at the FedEx Forum on August 20. Tickets went on sale Saturday morning with pricing from $47.50 to $55.50.
Adam, Kiwi, her sister and I all got tickets for the show. Adam covered my ticket (around $70 with tax, convenience charges, etc.) in exchange for my entertainment center that has been sitting in storage since I moved. I have no use for it, so I was glad to send it his way heh.
This will be my first time seeing Nickelback and Puddle of Mudd in concert. I saw Chris Daughtry at the 2007 Beale Street Music Fest and really enjoyed his set. I’ve liked Nickelback for a while now, long before they “made it big”. Keith introduced me to them several years back. He actually got to meet / interview them after they did a show in Memphis.
It should be a great concert; I’m really looking forward to it!

My friend Kyle Segars recently released his first album titled Second Chances: One Last Breath. The album was released on May 25 at the CD release show in Memphis, TN and was made available for purchase online shortly thereafter.
I ordered my copy via Paypal about a week ago for a mere $10 ($8 + $2 shipping - can’t beat that!) and and it arrived a few days later. The album is described as acoustic / rock and fits into those categories very well.
There are 11 tracks in total, ranging in length from 3 1/2 to 6 minutes- no ‘filler’ tracks here. To be honest, I am not a huge fan of acoustic music, but I certainly think this is a good album and would appeal to those who like more mellow sounding music. Some of my favorite tracks include “Now I Know”, “Moving On” and “Slow Down”.
Kyle personally autographs all hard copies, as he did for mine in the photo above. If you are looking to expand your music collection, check out some new talent and help out a young aspiring artist, you can head over to Second Chances’ Website and preview some of the tracks from the album. There is also a “Buy Now” button which allows you to order the CD via Paypal.
Here we go with another edition of my weekly top 10 mp3s. These are the songs that graced my Winamp player the most over the past week. Enjoy; I know I did

I was going through some old pictures on my computer last night when I ran across some that I had taken back in 2001 at a video shoot for the rock group Saliva. Saliva released their 2nd album, Every Six Seconds, on March 27, 2001. This is one of the few albums that I can listen to all the way through and enjoy every single track. You may recognize their music from the movie The Fast and the Furious. Both “Superstar” and “Click Click Boom” were featured in the film.
Saliva shot their video for the song “Click Click Boom” in a huge field in Millington, TN. Saliva was formed in Memphis in 1996, so coming back “home” to shoot their video was no surprise.
A friend and I made the trip to check out the shoot. The shoot went down in the middle of the summer and it was blazing hot!
We hung out under a tent most of the time, chatting with a few friends and such.
The shoot lasted well into the night. Even still, hundreds of people stuck around for the chance to be in the video.
In the end, I got a “video crew” t-shirt and some pretty neat pictures. It was pretty interesting to watch the whole shoot go down.
I was anxiously awaiting the premiere of the video on MTV, but that never happened due to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11. With a name like “Click Click Boom”, I guess television producers thought it best not to air the video. You can check out the full video from You Tube below.
This is the crowd that was on hand for local Memphis rapper Project Pat’s performance on Sunday of the Beale Street Music Fest. In case you can’t tell, that is A LOT of people!
Kiwi gave me the heads-up that there were a ton of pictures from the three day music event posted at the official Memphis in May Website. I just checked through some looking for some shots of yours truly, but so far I have come up empty-handed. Check em’ out if you are interested
