I took this picture a few years ago from a hotel room in downtown Memphis. This was well before I was into photography, and still had a point-n-shoot Nikon digital camera. Either way, the photo came out pretty decent.
This is the Pyramid in Memphis, which used to be the main venue for sporting events, concerts, etc. before the FedEx Forum was built. IMO, there was absolutely nothing wrong with the Pyramid and the city wasted a ton of money to build the Forum… but hey, you know how cities like to blow taxpayers money!

The first home football game kicks off tomorrow at 5 p.m. as Ole Miss takes on the Missouri Tigers. I was out on campus earlier and the preparations for game day have already began. The Grove and the Circle were littered with garbage cans (pun intended) in preparation for the thousands of “tailgaters” that will hit campus starting at midnight.
The photo above is of the Grove, taken a few years ago. This is only a fraction of the tents that cover the Grove. I’ll try to get some good pictures tomorrow; it really is an interesting sight on game day.

I took this photo in June of 2006 when Adam and I took a trip to Dayton, TN to visit my good friend Ashley. The photo was taken at her moms house before we went out for the evening. I’ve known Ashley for probably close to 15 years through a summer camp program that we both went to as kids, although we never really got to “hang out” much since she lives 8 hours away!

Isn’t she just too pretty (besides the startled look as I snapped the pic when she turned around heh)? I keep telling her to move to Memphis but so far it hasn’t worked heh

It’s not every day that you see a $600,000+ Enzo Ferrari. I was strolling down Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills a couple of years ago and spotted his hot exotic on display in some fancy store (I don’t remember what the store way). I couldn’t resist popping in for a few quick photos

I took this photo last year using my old Nikon D50. The shot was inspired by my photography teacher who did a similar shot (his was much better). I set up the camera on my tripod at the entrance to campus on University Ave. I really like doing these long exposure photos; it gives a very cool effect!

I just realized its been nearly three weeks since I posted my last photo-a-day; geez what’s my problem? lol
Anyway, I took this picture sometime last year when I was testing out my new zoom lens. The photo was taken beside the library near some really old steps that lead to the basement. Rust looks pretty neat when you look at it closely heh

This is exactly where I hope to be in the next few weeks: sunny Florida! This picture was taken last July at Grayton Beach. Adam and I took a road trip to visit his grandmother and we couldn’t resist heading out to the beach for a bit. We are planning another trip down that way here in the next few weeks (if everything goes as planned) - I can’t wait!

Another infrared shot from last summer. I went in search of an infrared filter to fit my newer lens today. The results were a bit disheartening. My old 52mm Hoya R72 filter sells for about $30… whereas the 72mm filter I need is over $100. I will be putting off the purchase for the near future… maybe next month?

This is a picture looking down University Ave. which leads into the heart of campus. I took this picture last spring just as the flowers were beginning to bloom. I need to get back out with the camera and snap some updated pictures!

Ahh, a delicious steak, one of my favorite foods! We had several cookouts last year at my old apartment, but I don’t see that happening too terribly much here at the new place. Perhaps when football season rolls around we might squeeze a few cookouts in on Saturdays
