So I am hungry and in need of a trip to the grocery store as there isn’t anything good to eat in my apt. That got me thinking back to the last OCIA.net LAN party. As you can see, we ate very well! 99% of it is junk food, but hey you need something to keep you awake all day (and night)

Today we have another picture from my infrared series. I took this photo last summer using my old Nikon D50 with a Hoya R72 infrared filter. The building is the Paris-Yates Chapel and Peddle Bell Tower here on campus. Buildings usually don’t work well under infrared but I thought this shot came out pretty neat.

The NFL Draft is coming up this weekend which got me thinking back to last year’s college football season. My team didn’t have a great season but there was one hot point in the team: inside linebacker Patrick Willis. Look for Willis to go early in the first round of the draft, possibly as high as #12 overall.
Anyway, this picture was taken September 3, 2006 at the season opener football game. Ole Miss went on to beat Memphis 28-25! I can’t wait til next season!

I get a laugh every time I come across this picture. I took it this picture back in 2004 at a hotel I stayed at. This was posted as part of their emergency briefing. Now, maybe it is just me, but whenever I hear the phrase “whoop whoop” I think of one song - the 90’s rap/dance music classic, Whoop! There It Is!

Hey, I didn’t earn the nickname “The Nationally Famous” for nothing! And it seems others agree as well

Ever seen a cross-eyed cat? Well if not, you have now! I took this picture last August on a trip to Florida with my friend Adam. This cat belongs to his grandmother and is very loving and friendly… but I didn’t know if I should pet it or take it in for corrective surgery!

I took this picture a few days after I got my first zoom lens. I was out on campus near the library and thought it might be cool to zoom in really close on the water fountain, and thus, this is what I came out with.

I took these pictures last year during one of our many cookouts. I think this one was after a football game. Anyway, Adam soaked the coals in lighter fluid then proceeded to light it. The first frame is right when it ignited and the second frame came as fast as my camera could snap in “rapid fire” mode. He was pretty lucky; walked away with all of his facial hair LOL.

I took this picture in June of 2006 at a small cemetery at the Brandon Springs Camp, which is located in the Tennessee portion of Land Between the Lakes. I used to attend a summer camp here. Adam and I took a trip there on “VIP day” last year to visit and see some old friends. I wish I had taken more pics of the cemetery; there were some really old headstones there.

What good is a college town without a drive-thru beer barn?! That is exactly what the Rebel Barn is, and the idea is genius. Here in Oxford, stores are not allowed to sell chilled beer, but the founders of the Rebel Barn found a loop-hole in the law. During the winter, the barn is open and as you may have figured, the beer is ice cold! Of course this is counter-productive in the summer…
