This is another infrared photo that I took last summer using my old Nikon D50 and a Hoya R72 infrared filter. Infrared photography is pretty difficult to master. Finding the exact combination of settings to get optimal results can be time consuming. Anyway, this is a picture of the Croft Institute for International Studies here on campus. I took a different approach with the colors in this picture and I think it gives a creepy feeling. I could have done without the lens flare though…

I took this picture in the early morning hours of January 6, 2007 during our 60+ hour round-trip road trip to the 2007 CES show in Las Vegas. We stopped at a gas station just outside of Santa Rosa, New Mexico a few hours earlier. Keith and Josh grabbed some shut-eye while stupid me was wide awake in the backseat! Of course, a road trip with mine and Keith’s luck wouldn’t be complete without blizzard-like conditions both ways of the trip. I had no idea it snowed like this in New Mexico, but eh, the sunrise view was amazing. The small photo above doesn’t do the photo justice. If you are interested, I can send you a larger version, just comment and let me know

Ok, so yeah, its fire from a grill… nothing amazing. I took this picture last summer during one of our many cookouts. I really like how the flames are so colorful and defined; it almost looks fake!

I took this picture last year at the Memphis vs. Ole Miss college football season opener on September 3, 2006. The kid just seemed to stick out like a sore thumb (makes sense considering he was a Memphis fan sitting in the Ole Miss section) so I snapped a quick picture. It actually turned out better than I thought it would. BTW, Ole Miss went on to win 28-25 Woo Hoo!!!

This is a picture of 3 Doors Down performing at the 2007 CES in Las Vegas. I think Keith took this picture, as he had a better “seat” than I did lol. It was kind of ironic when they were introduced as being from Mississippi, as I am sure we were among the few in the crowd also from the same state. They are one of my favorite bands and I was very impressed with their live performance.

This is a picture looking up towards the sky at the base of the Lyceum here on campus. The Lyceum is the oldest building on campus. It was constructed in 1848 and housed classrooms as well as administrative offices for the university.

This is another picture I took during our trip to the 2007 CES in Las Vegas. The New York, New York Hotel & Casino is an awesome replica of downtown New York City, complete with a scale model of the Statue of Liberty. This shot was taken from the car while sitting at a stop light. Next year I hope to get out on the strip more and get some better pictures of everything Vegas has to offer.

I took this photo last spring using my Nikon D50. This fish looked so sad peeking out from under his rock. The biology hall here on campus had two beautiful aquariums with all sorts of exotic fish, but last I checked, they had really let it go and it wasn’t even worth looking at.

This is a photo of the “new” ATO Fraternity house here on campus. August 27, 2004 - An early morning fire broke out in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity house that ultimately left three members dead and the house in ruins. Below are a few pictures I took that morning.

A new state-of-the-art house was built in its place and members moved in on July 26, 2006.

I took this picture last spring using my old Nikon D50. The building in the photo is Ventress Hall, which was built in 1889 and served as the first library. The building is now used as the office for the College of Liberal Arts.
