Clearly, The Best Beverage… Ever

In perhaps my most random thought in a few years, I was just in the kitchen cooking some rice for dinner and a thought popped into my head… a totally random memory of the best drink ever created, Clearly Canadian.

These beverages were really popular in the late 80s and early 90s, but demand eventually died off (supposedly after a change in the formula of the drink). I used to drink the hell out of these beverages when I was a kid. I even went so far as to collect the bottles. I had probably 100 or more when my family moved and I had to throw them all away :(

I did some searching on Google and it appeared that Clearly Canadian was no more… but, I was wrong!

Turns out, Clearly Canadian is still alive and kicking, and better yet, they have went back to their roots and now offer their original formula beverages for purchase online!

It comes without saying that I am about to order some of these, and I really hope they actually went back to the original formula and not some crappy remake. Now, I just have to decide on what flavors…

  1. Leo Said,

Those were my favorite drinks as a kid too. Luckily, we can still get them easily in Canada, just not every corner market like they used to be.

  2. Michael Kwan Said,

I really liked these growing up too. It blew my mind that a clear beverage could have so many fruit flavours. Hahaha.

  3. slugbug Said,

We only had Kool-Aid when I was a kid. Damn I must be old :(

  4. Shawn Knight Said,

Leo - Do they still taste the same? That is my main concern, they will taste totally different lol

BTW, I ordered a case of the original cherry :)

  5. Derek Said,

I remember having these in the house as a kid, although I cannot say it was my first choice when I wanted something to drink.

  6. Tyler Said,

I remember CC. They are stlil kicking around and I think they still taste the same. There is another brand that is made by them I think.. I’ll have to go to the local 711 to check it out. I remember the bottle saying it was bottled by Clearly Canadian.

I remember one summer when my dad was western Canada’s regional manager for 711 (manager for 72+ stores in 3 provinces) that particular annual 711 company picnic was at PlayLand and we had unlimited access to Clearly Canadian. It was awesome! lol

  7. Desiree Said,

I actually found your post while I was on a crazy long google search looking to find out if the clearly canadian they make now is REALLY the same as it used to be. I too ordered a 6pk of the cherry. It used to be wild cherry. did yours taste the same? I MUST know!

  8. Shawn Knight Said,

Hey, yep they tasted GREAT! I only wish someone would carry them locally, as it is too expensive for me to keep ordering them online. But don’t worry, you won’t be disappointed :)
