I just noticed that I cracked the top 20k over at Technorati. So how do you go from a no-name blog to one that ranks in the top 20k?
It all goes back to the basics. Content is the key. Keep your readers coming back with fresh, original content that they can’t find anywhere else. Make your blog unique. If you follow a niche, that’s great, keep at it. Myself, I’ve never really taken to niche blogs so I just post whatever is on my mind, and so far it seems to be working!
Equally as important as posting original content is posting often. People won’t tend to stick around if you only update your blog a few times a week. Daily updates are mandatory; the more the better.
Also, be active in the blogsphere. If you participate at other blogs, 99% of the time those bloggers will come to your site and return the favor. Encourage comments on your blog and reply to your readers comments.
