Seems Keith just wasn’t content with his Mustang. Truth be told, it just wasn’t “fast enough”. It would take several thousand dollars (supercharger) to bring it into the 12s in the quarter mile… just not worth the money.

So, he found this 99 Camaro SS for sale up in Missouri. He negotiated a deal and picked the car up last Friday for $10,500 - far less than he paid for the Stang.

The Camaro was well cared for and is in near-perfect condition. It was even in a car magazine a few years back, pretty cool. The car is an automatic as opposed to the manual Stang. We are headed to the track tomorrow to see what kind of numbers it can lay down.

The Stang pulled a best of 13.9 in the quarter mile. The SS should be able to hit 13 flat, if not break into the 12s. The car only has a few mods, listed below:

SLP Loudmouth 1 catback
SLP Lid
SLP smooth bellow
SLP strut tower brace
LS6 intake
3.42 gears
3000 Stall
Panhard bar and Lower control arms
Rear end Girdle

    Uh oh, a Camaro.

    Growing up in an Italian neighborhood, it was either a Mustang or a Camaro for me. I lacked the mullet so I went with the Stang ;)

    I’d take the GT over the Camaro anyday..the 09 Camaro is a different story however–it looks fantastic.

    These newer cars just don’t do it for me, I prefer the older muscle cars to any of the more current performance cars.

    I still regret the day when I was 16 and had looked at a ‘72 Olds Cutlass 454 with the big block and hurst shifter. It needed work but ran like a dream, the guy wanted $2k and my dad told me I couldn’t buy it because that was way too much car for a 16 year old. He was probably right but man did I want that car.

    Yes, the new Camaro looks nice, especially when it transforms into Bumblebee.
    Wait for the all-knew 2010 Mustang to blow it out of the water again.

    I’ve seen quite a few old VW bugs do 11 second quarter miles for a lot less investment.

    I mean, seriously, can’t you accelerate faster driving stick? :P

    Not that I drive an automatic or anything…. *whistles innocently*
