Moving Soon

It always seems like time slows down when you are anticipating something big. For me, that is happening right now, as I will be moving in only five days!

I have been “stuck” here in Oxford for the past 15 months in a lease that I kinda screwed myself into. I could have gotten out of it, with a penalty fee, but I would have had to sub-lease the apartment and that would just be asking for trouble. It seems like its been an eternity, but my lease is finally up at the end of the month and I will be moving to my new place this Thursday.

The new place is just outside of Memphis, TN which means I will be close to all of my friends again. I am currently an hour away from everyone, which as you can imagine, isn’t much fun. I will be getting my own place (no more roommates, woohoo!) which is MUCH nicer than my current apartment. Also gone will be the ridiculously slow proprietary internet and slacking cable. Oh, and the new place allows pets, something you aren’t suppose to have here… yet many do anyway. I want to adopt a baby kitten :)

The only thing I will miss here is going to the home football games. But I’m sure I’ll still make it back for a game or two this season, and catch the rest on TV or the radio. Oh, and I hope I get better cell phone reception at the new place. 0-1 bars in my room here = fail.

I spent most of today packing things up. The good thing is that most of my stuff is still in storage, so I don’t have much here to move at all.

Anyway, my next update will be pics of the new place, so until then…

Good luck with the move, you never realise how much stuff you have until you begin to pack!

Take plenty of photo’s of the new place and let us get a look!

Get a dog, better than a cat lol.

    @ Khalid:
    Cats rule!!!!!

    @ Shawn
Good luck with the moving dude. I hate the process of packing and unpacking so I guess you better order lots of pizza and get your friends to play the game. My favorite is getting them to vacuum, otherwise known as ‘Who Can Make the Straightest Lines’ game. :-)

I feel you on the no roommates thing….just too much trouble sometimes. It is good that you will be closer to friends becoz you never know when you might need some quick help. (once I passed out while I was sick in a pool of vomit….glad I had friends close by…but that is another story).

  3. Shawn Knight Said,

Totally agree with lulu - cats rule. I’d never own a dog lol

“Who Can Make the Straightest Lines” game, classic, I love it!

  4. Kattikawn Said,

ROTFL I’ll be keeping an eye out for that game.

And dogs aren’t all that bad. ;)

First off, thanks for stopping by my site :) Always nice to see new readers.
Second, have fun with the move! I love moving (well, I love the prospect of a nicer/newer place to live…not the actual moving part, haha). Glad that you seem to be getting into a place that suits your needs better. Adopting a kitty, huh? We just adopted one in March and she’s just adorable and fantastic. :) Good luck!

  6. Derek Said,

Congrats on the pending move, hope it all goes smoothly and I look forward to seeing pics of the new place.

    Get some fish!

  7. Rutledge Said,

Almost there! Good call on the adopt a kitty instead of just going and “getting one,” saves a life you know =)

    Good luck ^^,

Hey Shawn, I saw your name in my blog-log. I’m the new owner of MomsCashBlog and wanted to kind of introduce myself. I also wanted to check out your blog and see your posting. I wish you luck with your move and have fun being closer to your friends… but most of all good luck with your new kitten. I just love cats and they really give you a lot of companionship. A lot of people say that cats have a mind of their own and that dogs like to please their owner. That might be true but if you want to leave for one night you can leave your cat w/food and H2o and their litter box and you are all set. A dog owner must find someone to take care of the dog and if you move to an apartment you have to worry about barking.Yeah to cat lovers. Thanks and come over to visit the site if you get a chance.
