The laptop came with Windows Vista, which IMO is just garbage, so I promptly formatted and installed Windows XP. It has been a bit of a challenge finding drivers for XP but it is coming along…

Very nice buddy - be careful with the drivers. I had some clients using both Toshiba and HP Tablet PC’s and we had 75% of them break due to pen drivers.
We thought we could just reinstall, wrong! Then the tech support with both companies was completely horrible and acted like this had never happened. Create ghost images and save yourself alot of trouble!

hah yeah,i get that a lot. i try to clean up the desktop icons every few weeks but it seems they keep coming back lol. good think i have a large monitor heh

4.2 lbs… i will probably keep the battery out most of the time around the house which helps reduce the weight a good bit. also you can remove the optical drive and insert a spacer, but the drive doesnt weight much at all…
i was really lookin for one of those Sony lappys, 2.8 lbs…. but, for nearly a grand more… im good lol

I really like vista, for the development work that I do, it is way more stable than any other windows OS. It seems to be able to allocate the memory better.
I do have to admit that it is very touchy with hardware, especially memory errors if you have any.
