New Mattress Topper

null

I was at the store earlier doing some grocery shopping and got to thinking about this 4″ memory foam mattress topper. I had almost purchased it once before but decided to hold off, since it cost $110, ouch!

But, here lately I have noticed that my back has been hurting more and more each morning when I wake up. I have a relatively new, quality mattress (about two years old), and it still feels really nice. Hopefully this memory foam topper will alleviate the back problems.

And speaking of 4″, I measured it once we pulled it out of the box and it is only 2.5″. Hopefully it just needs to air out and fluff up, or else… LIES!

I’ll post a comment on my thoughts of it tomorrow :)

The only problem with that is your fitted sheets wouldn’t fit your bed. I have a 1″ mattress topper on my bed and the sheets just fit.

  2. Lulugal11 Said,

Yeah I was going to mention the thing about the sheets. You might have to buy new sheets…..or get those elastic strip things that hold the sheets in place.

Safety pins FTW! Bed slept good, back wasn’t bothering me this morning. I seem to kinda sink into place after a bit on it - hope it doesn’t develop a permanent impression where I sleep, that would not be cool.

  4. Rutledge Said,

That looks pretty cozy… maybe you just need a better chair seat to help with posture and fix those back problems? =P

  5. Kattikawn Said,

You know, Keith and I bought one of those several months back. I could take or leave it, myself, but he loves it. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it tends to hold heat, a big negative in this sauna we call an apartment.

  6. Shawn Knight Said,

Holds heat eh? That’s no good. That’s another issue I have with my bed, I always seem to get too hot in it, especially my back or side against the mattress. I thought it was due to the silk fitted sheet… then again, could also be because I sleep with my bedroom door closed.

Have you noticed if yours sinks in at all over time?

  7. Kattikawn Said,

I haven’t noticed it sinking at all. The only sinking we have is where the mattress is already broken down.

Silk doesn’t breathe, so part of your problem may definitely be your sheets. Like a good sock, cotton definitely is much better for heat concerns, but I know that’s probably not an option for you.

  8. Suzanne Said,

Hi Shawn ~ I don’t have the topper but I have the memory mattress (whole mattress) and I love it!

I agree with the silk sheets … must be high end cotton … why “not an option for you?”

“And speaking of 4″, I measured it once we pulled it out of the box and it is only 2.5″. Hopefully it just needs to air out and fluff up, or else… LIES!”

Hmmmm … now you know how we chicks feel! LOL Just couldn’t resist *hugs* Suzanne

  9. Shawn Knight Said,

LOL nice Suzanne. I prefer silk sheets as they are easier to “slide” around on. Nothing worse than getting your boxers all sideways, caught on cotton sheets hah
