New OCIA.net Design Is Live!

After more than a month of work, the new OCIA.net site design has been launched! Be sure to head over and check it out. There is still a lot of work to be done, but that will come soon enough.

Also, I have published my review of the Mountain Mods U2-UFO Duality cube case.

The Duality is capable of holding two full size ATX computer systems, 12 fans, four power supplies and a whopping 18 hard drives!

Oh, and don’t forget to Digg It! Thanks in advance!

And now I’m off to spend some quality time with my pillow :)

  1. Stephen Said,

Looks very clean and easy to read. The only thing I noticed is that your branding for OCIA isn’t very strong. Maybe make that logo a bit bigger?

  2. Thomas De Maesschalck Said,

The redesign looks pretty good, but like Stephen said, the branding for OCIA isn’t strong enough. Compared to the logo the white text in the main menu looks really big.

I also noticed that you’re old content isn’t online anymore. Probably you still need to convert these reviews to the new layout but it would be a good idea to temporary leave them online so your traffic (and income) won’t drop.

  3. Nick Said,

Looking great, glad to see the new design and hopefully it will bring you many more visitors - plus more income ;)

  4. Bobs Said,

Much cleaner and I like the fixed width. I’m not sure if the header section should be the same color as the background, kind of drowns it out…which is perhaps another reason your branding is not sticking out and saying “hello, look at me” ;).

It is very clean & structured, however I thought you were wanting something really “techy” looking…

  5. Shawn Knight Said,

Yeah, I am starting now on converting the old data over… it’s going to take some time heh, around 500 reviews / articles..

  6. Search Engine Marketing Said,

    1 word for you … WOW …

  7. Kelly Cho Said,

Hey looks much cleaner! I like it!

  8. Tyler Ingram Said,

    Hey the site looks great!

That’s also a crazy set up you have there! What is the noise on it like? Not sure if I remember you mentioning it at all.

    I’m impressed :) Good job!

  9. Shawn Knight Said,

Hey Tyler, yeah I mentioned noise in the conclusion. Thanks to the fan controllers, its not much louder than your average computer case :)

  10. Leo Said,

    Reminds me of TRON :)

  11. franciscodiez Said,

Wow, that was quite a change… Some suggestions:

1.- The logo size is cool, but I would make the Overclocking Intelligence Agency much bigger… 50% bigger or more.

2.- Your thumbs at the homepage, I would use a 1px border on dark blue

3.- Change your favicon man! Looks like you made it with paint :P

4.- I would try a smaller navigation bar

Congrats! You will see how your traffic goes up :)

  12. derek Said,

Thought I would share a couple of my comments on the new design as well:

    1. The font size of the tab links across the top seems way too big compared to everything else.

    2. As Bobs mentioned, I think the background color of the left/right edges should be different than the header. Maybe try something darker to make the content area pop a little more.

    3. The gray edges running down the left/ride sides of the content area stop once I scroll the page.

    4. I might be inclined to drop the ad in the header and instead make your logo larger. If this ad performs really well, then maybe I would leave it but I think your logo should stand out a little more.

Overall I think the new design looks really nice and hopefully it brings in additional traffic that converts well for you!

  13. Adam Said,

That’s an awesome looking machine. Not sure whether you have read it but I did that long overdue review of your blog.

  14. Jagular Said,

That’s a pretty nice case there.
I’ve often thought of running a dual ATX setup.
But I’m not going to upgrade any further until the dual quad boards come out.
If I could find a dual quad board with 2x PCIe x16 slots, I’d buy it today.

I’d post a review of your site on my blog, but I’ve got such a backlog right now. So it may be a little while. But if you want to guest-write it, I’ll put it on there if you want.

  15. Bob Buskirk Said,

great pic, that case looks insane!!
