Photo Tent

I purchased a photo tent from Ebay last week and it arrived today. My friend Bob purchased a similar photo tent not too long ago and after seeing some of the pictures he took with the tent, I decided to order one also. Bob ordered the Super Size tent, which is 48″ x 48″ x 48. I knew that would be too large for me, so I decided on the 36″ x 36″ x 36″ tent.

Uhm, yeah, I knew the tent would be a 3′ cube but I didn’t envision it being THIS large. Geez, it doesn’t even fully fit on my table! I haven’t tested it out yet because the backdrop that came with it is very wrinkled. My friend Sarah is coming over later with her iron, so hopefully I can get some test pictures in later tonight.

At any rate, the tent is far too large to use at my new apartment, so I will more than likely pass it along to one of my staff writers and order a smaller one. Yey, nothing like wasting money :(

  1. Shawn Knight Said,

BTW I am now accepting rental applications for the tent. It can comfortably hold a family of 12 :)

  2. Bobs Said,

What specifically did you purchase this for? I know most people purchase this for auction items and such, how about you?

  3. Shawn Knight Said,

I will be using it to take pictures of the products I review.

  4. Bobs Said,

Thats what I figured. What a great job you have!

  5. pixelPruner Said,

wow that’s huge! my friend has a tiny little one just perfect for photographing little items that I have borrowed. Very useful. Also please don’t iron straight onto that = molten plastic on your iron :P

    Have fun!

  6. Shawn Knight Said,

Heh actually I did iron it. The iron had an adjustable setting so I just put it on the lower setting and it worked great!

  7. Natron Said,

Why don’t you just hire models to hold the hardware. There is enough room in the tent and might increase your readership!

  8. Nathan Said,

I checked out Bobs site but couldn’t find any photos using the tent. Have you had a chance to do some test shots yet?

  9. Shawn Knight Said,

LOL maybe if they wanted to work for free… could add it to their resume :)

  10. Shawn Knight Said,

Yeah I tested the tent earlier today. It is of course meant to use with sunlight or studio lighting, and considering I don’t have access to either really, I still had to use the camera flash.

Its still a step up from what I was using, but it can be better. I am going to check into other lighting options soon.
