Saliva Video Shoot

I was going through some old pictures on my computer last night when I ran across some that I had taken back in 2001 at a video shoot for the rock group Saliva. Saliva released their 2nd album, Every Six Seconds, on March 27, 2001. This is one of the few albums that I can listen to all the way through and enjoy every single track. You may recognize their music from the movie The Fast and the Furious. Both “Superstar” and “Click Click Boom” were featured in the film.

Saliva shot their video for the song “Click Click Boom” in a huge field in Millington, TN. Saliva was formed in Memphis in 1996, so coming back “home” to shoot their video was no surprise.

A friend and I made the trip to check out the shoot. The shoot went down in the middle of the summer and it was blazing hot!

We hung out under a tent most of the time, chatting with a few friends and such.

The shoot lasted well into the night. Even still, hundreds of people stuck around for the chance to be in the video.

In the end, I got a “video crew” t-shirt and some pretty neat pictures. It was pretty interesting to watch the whole shoot go down.

I was anxiously awaiting the premiere of the video on MTV, but that never happened due to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11. With a name like “Click Click Boom”, I guess television producers thought it best not to air the video. You can check out the full video from You Tube below.
