Last night we hit the track to see what Keith’s Newest Car was capable of. With only very mild exhaust mods (H-Pipe and Mufflers), we were expecting mid 15s at best.
It was an extremely cold night (32 F) which is both good and bad. Good, because lower air temps = more power but bad, because when the track is this cold, it can be tough to get traction. Keith made four passes, netting his best time of 14.4 on his second pass! Yes, 14.4 is “slow”, but for a basically stock 92 GT with 160k+ miles and highway gears in the rear, this is better than any of us anticipated!
Our friend Matt also made the trip and ran at best of 12.7 in his 2002 Camaro Z28 with basic exhaust mods. Those LS1 motors are mean, that’s for sure!
This was the last event of the season so we will have to wait until February before everyone gets a chance to run again.
