Treasure Island Hotel for CES 2008

null

Wow, it seems that now is the prime time to start booking hotel rooms for the 2008 CES. Last year we stayed at a friends place in Las Vegas. This had its benefits (free!) but it also had its faults. Mostly, time. It took 30-45 minutes to get from where we were staying to parked and ready on the strip.

Plus, since we are flying this year, we would also need to rent a vehicle - even more money. So, I decided that we (me, Keith, Kattikawn and THE WORLD FAMOUS) will stay at a hotel on the strip this year. This will give us much better access to events and travel time will be cut out completely.

I spent a few hours researching hotels and rates today and ultimately decide on Treasure Island. My buddy Bob stayed there last year and from the looks of the video he took of the room, it seems to be a nice place. Plus, it is right in the middle of the strip.

Even with the CES discount, the room rates are still pretty hefty - about $280 per night, multiply that by seven nights… well, you can do the math! I will be placing my reservations tomorrow :)

  1. Thomas Said,

Damn that’s pretty expensive for a hotel room ^^

That is an awesome hotel. They have an awesome pirate show at night. I can’t remember if it is that hotel or Mandalay bay that has a really cool art deco ceiling inside.

  3. Leo Said,

man, I miss Vegas so much. I remember catching the pirate show at Treasure Island.

  4. franciscodiez Said,

It looks nice, and the rate is not as bad as other hotels during CES Week.

TI is one of my options, and that I know you are staying there is even better. You can show me the way home after I pass out at a manufacturer party :D

  5. Kattikawn Said,

It looks comparable to a room I stayed in on Bourbon Street a few years ago. Although I don’t think it was anywhere near the price of TI.
