Weekend Wrap-Up

There were some bits and pieces from the weekend that I intended to make full blog posts about, but later realized that they weren’t that substantial as individual posts. So, I decided to make a single “wrap up” post :)

First up, dogs. I’m not a big fan of dogs, but I couldn’t resist this cute “weiner dog” that belonged to Kiwi’s sister. That is, until I tried to go to sleep. This dog went buck wild and attacked my hands/face/head for about 20 minutes straight!

So, I have decided to tell you exactly why cats are much better animals than dogs.

1. Dogs bark, cats don’t - simple as that. Nothing is more annoying than a barking dog that won’t shut up.

2. Dogs tear things up! I know several people who have dogs and well, the dog ends up chewing up a ton of their belongings. True, cats do scratch things, but I’ve also never seen a cat eat a surround sound speaker.

3. Dogs stink. Some people say that cats smell as well, but personally I have never seen a well cared for cat that has an odor. Dogs, on the other hand, smell like ass even after a bath! That, and cats clean themselves so you don’t have to.

4. Dogs have to be taken outside to use the bathroom. That is, once they are trained. Otherwise, they just unload anywhere… carpet, couch, your leg. Cats are born with the instinct to bury their “bi-products” and thus, a litter box is properly used. No waking up in the middle of the night to let the cat out to potty.

5. Many dogs get excited and piss everywhere. I’ve never seen a cat be so excited to see someone that they couldn’t control their bladder.

6. When is the last time you heard a news story about a cat attacking and killing a small child?

Ok, I think you get the point. :)

Anyway… after jet skiing at the lake, we were all pretty hungry.

We decided to order some Buffalo Wild Wings take-out. Kiwi and Adam got buffalo wings - sweet bbq and mild respectively.

I opted for the Naked Tenders wrap which consists of skinless chicken tenders and several cheeses, wrapped in a flour tortilla. Then you get wing dipping sauce - absolutely delicious! I only ate half of mine with the intention of finishing the rest off before bed, but eh, I kinda forgot about it. Oh well.

Here, Kiwi is demonstrating the importance of wearing sunblock. I personally can’t stand the stuff and never wear any… but then again I hardly ever burn. Anything greasy (lotions, sunblock, etc.) is off limits for me - it simply grosses me out!

Sunday was a pretty slow day; we were all still pretty tired (and sore) from the day before. We did manage to get out and get our hair cut though. Oh, and we stopped by Kiwi’s work before coming back to Oxford to pick up some banana pudding. The bowl is much larger than I though it would be; looks like I’ll have dessert all week!

  1. Lulu Said,

First off Shawn….if the naked tenders are wrapped up (wearing a coat in my opinion) then they are no longer naked right?
Ok that was the good part.
    Now for the bad part.
Go stand in the corner Shawn!!! Why are you not wearing sunblock? Do you relish the thought of getting skin cancer. I would think you would rather be greasy for a few hours and smell like a medicine chest than to have skin cancer for the REST OF YOUR LIFE (*Lulu says this in a threatening tone*)
    Bad Shawn! Bad! Bad!
If you don’t like using pure sunblock there are many products out now with sunblock in them that do not feel greasy or smell bad. I recommend Oil Of Olay face moisturizer with SPF 15. It protects your skin from those cancer causing rays, smells nice and does not feel heavy or greasy and does not make you break out. I have sensitive skin and this is the only thing that does not mess me up.

  2. Ms.Caesi Said,

I completely agree that cats are better than dogs. I would much rather have a cat than a dog however, I cannot convince N* to let us have a kitten instead of a second puppy. Our current puppy is a nuisance and does all of things you have mentioned above.

Oh and a note for pet names, never choose Megabyte as a dog’s name, as cute and nerdy as it is. Our dog loves to bite and I think it has something to do with her name. haha.
