Willis Outstanding In Season Opener Against Cardinals

null

Former Ole Miss linebacker Patrick Willis earned the starting position during training camp and played in his first regular season NFL game tonight against the Arizona Cardinals. So how did he do?

As no surprise to me, extremely well. The game commentators were raving about Willis all night, and rightfully so. He was all over the field making plays, and led the team with 11 total tackles, 8 of which were solo.

I knew Patrick was going to be something special our freshman year at school when he laid a huge hit on special teams during the Alabama game in 2003. He lived next door to me in the dorms that year and I remember congratulating him on the huge hit.

Willis is well on his way to becoming a huge star in the NFL, and I can’t wait to see where his career takes him.
